Teacher Training | 1 year at Ioannina
Your Journey of YogaUnion TTC 200hr – Begins October 2014
This specific Teacher Training certificate, will be held at the studio YogaUnion. This course is certified by Yoga Alliance UK and with the technical support of Sampoorna Yoga, one the most prestigious school of yoga in India. The teacher training will last for one year, giving the chance to people who work to spend one month in India or in another place in the world.
The biggest advantage of this yoga teacher training course is that the students will have the time to absorb better the vast knowledge of yoga which is the science of life. Our one year TTC starts on October 2014 and finish on November of 2015 and in August will be a break for rest and reflection.
The program of the course is as follows: one weekend every month theory and techniques that are 10 teaching hours (total 120hr). Practical training is mandatory for 3 classes per week (total 144 lessons of practicum). Practice exercises will take place the 3 last months of the course to class sections indicated by yoga union (total 30hr). The total amount of hours for this program is 294hr. At the end of this seminar the student is obliged to prepare a thesis on which they can choose the subject themselves in cooperation with yogaunion studio.
The inspiration of the course is based on respect and love for yoga. Our course begins with a journey to the history of Ashtanga yoga and Vinyasa flow. Every weekend for one year, students will experience the magic of yoga. In that journey our students will be taught fully the Ashtanga Primary series and the basics of Yin and restorative yoga so they can learn the rhythm of the movement and the breathing of Vinyasa flow. At every session a student will gain deeper understanding of the asanas, using that knowledge to practice and teach. Our main goal is that our students will be able to manage a lesson correctly from the beginning to end. By the end of the teacher training course our students will be able to teach and will own a professional qualification.
Our Yoga TTC program (Based on Sampoorna yoga standards) includes:
Teaching techniques: demonstration, observation and practice, teaching in a class environment, and learning the procedure of teaching a yoga class.
Training & Practice: Ashtanga Primary series, pranayamas, kriya, mudras, mantras, Yin yoga, restorative yoga and usage of props.
History & Philosophy & Ethics: the study of the history and lineage of yoga, the understanding of yoga lifestyle and teacher ethics.

Our yoga teacher training course is built upon some basic principles demonstration-observation-practice.
In our courses the students learn how to teach from the first day. At every class there will be a principal teacher and an observing teacher. During the class a student will act like a teacher simulating a lesson to his fellow students at the same time the observing teacher will keep notes about everyone’s performance. These notes will be discussed at the end of the class so everyone will understand how to correct their alignment and how to improve their unique technique. The principal teacher will be present at every class helping and guiding the students and giving them the correct directions to achieve a better teaching technique. At the last three months for every Saturday the students will participate as teachers and as assistant teachers to an actual yoga class interacting with people new to yoga always with the help and guidance of our teaching team.
